Island Sink by Kohler

Introduced at the 2009 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show, the Iron/Occasions Island Sink by Kohler is a sink, island, and design statement all at once. The “one-piece surface and integrated basin” uses the incredibly strong Kohler cast iron, covered in a thick layer of enamel. The material is super sturdy—and that doesn’t even cover how good it looks. Besides the enamel’s durability, the Iron/Occasions Island Sink is sustainable: it’s made of 93% recycled and reclaimed material. Guaranteed not to chip, crack or burn, the enamel-covered cast iron is additionally amazingly easy to clean. While the sink’s material is remarkable due to its inherent qualities, it pales in comparison to the overall appearance and interest of the design.
