Toolmonger has a few readers weighing in on whether Leatherman’s Skeletool is Hot or Not, in light of the company’s delayed release of the tool.
When we last mentioned it, it was scheduled for a November 2007 release. The tool is just now making it to market.
The company told me that the delay occurred considering they’d rather compose their customers wait than release an imperfect product.
But the discussion raises some valid points, such as:
Are you just buying into the Leatherman name, or are you buying a quality tool?
Is it worth it to you to pay more for an item because it’s made in America?
Is Gerber better?
For further reading (and more pics) have a look at the tool’s warm reception at the offices of multitool.org.
